Great job ladies!!
Cold and Flu Season:If your child is experiencing a fever, an extremely runny nose, excessive coughing, headache, tummy pains, or other symptoms, please keep your child at home to rest and recover! I will do my best to work you in for another time but exposure to your child’s illness doesn’t only affect me, it can spread to all who come for lessons even though I take measures to keep the piano keys clean, wipe down door knobs, have the children using the hand sanitizer, etc. In addition, I take the flu shot in an effort to stay well during the school year but that doesn’t keep every bug and virus at bay. THANK YOU to some parents who have already kept sick children at home!
Spring Recital: The date for the spring recital is May 31. We will be performing at the Lake Norman Christian Ministries Church on Hwy. 21 in Mooresville. The performance starts at 1 p.m. and will last about an hour. Student need to arrive @ 12:30 p.m. and be in concert attire! Remember all family friends and relatives are invited to attend free of charge.
Directions to the Recital: In Mooresville, take Brawley School Road to Hwy. 21 (at the golf course) and turn right. Lake Norman Christian Ministries is on the right about ½ mile. If you come to the traffic light at the new McDonalds, you have gone too far.
Coming from Denver: Exit at 33 and turn right which is Hwy. 21. About ½ mile on the left is the church. If arrive at the light by the golf course, you have gone too far.
Coming from Statesville: Exit at 33 and turn left, continue through the next light and about ½ mile on your left on Hwy. 21 is the church. If you arrive at the light by the golf course, you have gone too far.
Recital Attire: Just a reminder about Concert Attire for the recital, please have the students dressed in nice casual attire. No sportswear including tennis shoes or flip flops please! Thank you!!
Summer Lessons:Summer is right around the corner! I do teach all year around and require summer activity to hold your lesson slot for fall. You must complete 6 lessons before school begins in August to remain on my active list. Failure to do so puts you on my waiting list. This is done to help students keep their skill level up over summer break. This is an effective way to keep the students current and not waste your lesson dollars due to regression of skills over the summer.
All lessons are booked by appointment only. Students are encouraged to take as many lessons as you want but no less than 6 over the summer. I schedule lessons by the month and will work around your vacations, camps, and other activities during June, July, and August.
Oboe Reed Clinics: Students interested in reed making will once again be able to attend clinics offered this summer or by appointment if the times do not fit in your schedule. Having reed skills is a vital part of oboe playing and knowing how to work with the reeds will help you be more successful as a player. Information for the sessions will be given just to oboe students during lessons in May.
